First Grade students recently read the book, Are You Blue Dog's Friend?,by George Rodrigue.  They then completed an arts infused lesson by recreating a character in the story using a directed drawing method. They focused on language skills regarding characters and settings and visual arts skills regarding background, primary colors, and the use of different mediums.

Can these students figure out how to protect Humpty Dumpty when he falls? Kindergarten students completed a Science activity to determine what items provided the best protection for an egg when it was dropped.  Students were given different household items and made predictions as to whether the an egg would crack or hold his shape when each item was used as a protective layer.  They then placed...

Mason's Speech and Debate Team recently traveled to Atlanta, Ga to participate in the Atlanta urban Debate League Tournament.  The teams competed against teams from Atlanta, Ga, Houston, Tx, and Dallas, Tx. Their hard work and dedication to Speech and Debate this year paid off as they won the debate challenge. They were awarded with trophies and certificates.  We are very proud of this...

Recently, the Laurel Garden Club sponsored a Bee Project at Mason.  Members of the garden club partnered with Dr.
